Joseph Gregorio, Founding Artistic Director

A native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Joseph Gregorio has studied composition with Steven Stucky, David Conte, and Richard Brodhead. Gregorio’s music has been broadcast on Performance Today and Choral Mix, has garnered prizes in several competitions, and has been recorded and performed in the United States and abroad by numerous and renowned soloists and ensembles. His choral music is published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company, the National Collegiate Choral Organization, and Treble Clef Music Press. Also active as a conductor, Gregorio is the founding director of chamber choir Ensemble Companio, director of choirs at Swarthmore College, and has served as assistant and guest conductor to several collegiate and community choirs. He holds a M.M. in composition with departmental honors from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a M.M. in choral conducting from Yale University, and a B.A. magna cum laude in music from Cornell University. Gregorio was a professor of music theory and musicianship at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from 2008-2009 and an adjunct professor of music theory at Temple University from 2011-2012.  He is a candidate for the D.M.A. in composition at Temple University.
